Vega VDC Iron: Unique Dual Cavity Back

The Vega VDC iron has a very special head shape which Vega calls "Dual Cavity". This is also directly visible and ensures that the weight distribution moves a little further upwards and ensures relatively low ball flights. As for the lofts, the VDC iron is relatively strong. So the pitching wedge ends the set with 44° which requires a gap wedge of 48° or 50°.

Vega VDC Test Report and Review

We were very impressed with our first test with the new Vega VDC. The iron looks very classic and hides the "technology" more than well. The result is a club head that looks and feels very clean and classic. The first time you approach the ball, you notice that the head gives you a lot of confidence. Especially the topline is relatively wide and striking. In the setup position you have the feeling of holding a club that is very forgiving. And that is exactly what the VCD is. 

Especially the feedback is remarkable. You notice very well where you hit the ball. Rich hits in the sweetspot feel fantastic - as you would expect from a head forged in Japan. Everything outside the sweetspot still feels relatively soft and clean, but you notice that you don't hit the ball cleanly. This gives you exactly the feedback you want without sacrificing performance.

The clubhead is a great tool to work with and allows you to "shape" the ball in all directions. The clubface is minimally milled to provide more and consistent spin. The VDC has relatively little offset and it is not a club head that is just for anti-slice players.

This makes the Vega VDC an iron that is suitable for a relatively broad target group. Better players who do not want to lose the playability and soft impacts but want to gain some forgiveness will certainly find the VDC to be a good head. The VDC is also an option for players who are used to "two-shell" heads and prefer a classic look.
