Vega Mizar Plus Iron: The next generation Undercut
The main body of the Mizar Plus is forged from particularly soft s25c carbon steel and then joined with a 2.6mm thick maraging insert. This allows Vega to combine the advantages of forged iron with the forgivable properties of undercut iron. The result is exceptional and for all players looking for length and forgiveness a revelation.
The iron set is available from 5-PW, an iron 4 can be ordered if required.
Buy the Vega Mizar Plus online
Before you buy your new Mizar Plus iron set online, you should consider several things. Basically we offer all possible configurations and are happy to help with special requests. But this does not mean that you should order your set lightly. You can contact us at any time by email, phone or live chat and we are happy to help. But the following lines should answer some important questions already.
Iron set from iron 4 or 5?
80% of the time Mizar Plus players prefer a set starting with iron 5. Very few also want to start an iron 4 or a set starting with iron 6. The latter is also possible and all you have to do is contact us. An iron 4 already demands a lot, even if a Mizar Plus is of course very easy to play, even from tight lies. The clubhead speed should be a bit higher, otherwise you are better off with a hybrid.
Please also note that the Mizar Plus Iron 4 has only 20° loft which is slightly less than "normal". This doesn't make it any easier to play.
Our recommendation would therefore be to choose the set from 5 iron. An iron 4 can also be reordered individually if you find that you need one.
Which shaft for Mizar Plus?
Basically we offer a wide range of shafts and the shafts you can choose here are enough for 90% of the players. However, we are also happy to accommodate special requests, but normally this is not necessary. We only use high-quality, mostly Japanese shafts. We do not compromise on quality and do not offer a low priced shaft.
As you are interested in a Mizar Plus you will probably not be a tour player. Your club head speed should be in an under- to average range. This means you exclude many shafts that we offer and the choice is probably reduced to the Fujikura Vista Pro as graphite shaft, as well as lighter and softer steel shafts like Shimada S-Lite, Nippon NS Pro 850GH or the KBS C-Taper Lite. The lightest of these shafts is of course the Fujikura Vista Pro. It is a very high quality graphite shaft which is comparable to steel shafts in terms of performance, but is extremely light and vibration absorbing. This shaft would be the first choice if you tend towards the graphite shaft anyway and prefer a light iron.
The flex depends on the shaft selected. In the shaft table below you can see which flex is offered for which shaft and how it feels compared to other shafts. There are some shafts that are labeled as Stiff but feel more like a regular. Therefore you should not be deterred by the word "Stiff" - this is all relative.
Desired shaft length
Before you make your choice, you should be aware that the length of the shaft has a big influence on the swing weight. And this is a crucial factor in your game. It is advisable to leave the standard length and shorten it afterwards if it does not fit. Extending a shaft again is not possible without further ado or not advisable in principle.
If you have any questions or wishes, please do not hesitate to contact us.
